Once again, such an emotional event that is Relay for Life. Listed are some of my favorite photos of the day, but I will just speak to this first photo.
As a family was placing luminarias on the field this girl was doing fine and then just broke down. I don’t know if she knew the name on the Luminaria or it hit her what the event means and what so many luminaries represent, but this is such a strong photograph for me.
This was my first year photographing the Man & Woman of the year event, and what a spectacular event it was!
What really hit me was the amount of passion and emotion for the cause and the amount of money raised for the foundation.
Thank you to everyone for allowing me to experience this event and photograph the laughs and tears.

This is definitely something I wish I experienced as a high school senior.
From choosing a career, paying bills, and even giving something to charity with what they had left over, caused smiles, frustration, and really opened the eyes of the students to prepare them for life on their own.
I was incredibly impressed by the organization and commitment of so many Sun Prairie businesses to represent their trade and offer advice on purchasing those goods and services.
There were even police officers patrolling the floor and giving tickets as that is a part of life too!
